To my wife, Aida, of 11 years (this year), I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!

By the time you read this, I would have done something I have wanted to do for 10 years – propose to my wife.

You see, before I got married to my wife (Aida), I didn’t know much about romance and how things worked. Yes. I was cuddly and showy with my feelings. But there are just some things a guy doesn’t know about love.

Ten years ago, in a Starbucks Coffee in Makati, I gave my wife an engagement ring. Unfortunately, I gave it in the most stupidest way. No music. No flowers. No nothing. How unromatic, isn’t it? Yup.

And for years, my wife had longed to have a proposal that is truly worth remembering. Every time she saw something like that on television or in movies, she wished he had that too. And I wish that for her as well.

Today, I get to change everything. I’m given a second chance.

By the time you read this, I would have already swept her off her feet in surprise.

She doesn’t know that I will be singing to her today or giving her flowers or proposing in front of a crowd with a ring in tow. Yes. A ring.

So I hope that as I write my next post, I have photos and video to show you all.

Frankly, I’m scared to death. But I’m willing to do this because I love my wife. I have been with her for 14 years. Married for 10 years. We’ve gone through a lot.

I want to give her something I neglected to give her – a proper proposal.

And today, we start again. Anew.

I’m currently preparing for the first series for 2011 entitled THE “F” WORD: FAITH. I’ve been praying and considering this theme since last year. I know that this sermon series has been considered and marinated in prayer. We’re going to talk about faith and how we have a wrong mindset, perception and application of this life-changing supernatural personal decision.

I hope you can join us starting January 9, 2011 (Sunday) from 10am to 11:30am at the Metropolitan Club (Estrella cor. Rockwell Drive, Makati City). Don’t worry about anything. We’ll provide the music and the warm smiles. By the way, if you want to come in your jeans, go right ahead. We want you as comfortable as possible.

When I first watched this video, I was led to tears and had a great conviction in my heart. I showed this to Team Rockwell and they too felt the deep burden. Let me share this to you as you start 2010. If you gave you life to Jesus Christ, then you are not just a spectator but a gladiator. You are part of a battle between good and evil with the soul of people at stake.

As you watch this five minute video, may you be challenged this 2010 to encourage more people to have a relationship with Jesus Christ.

I got to the studios around 5:30pm to beat the traffic which is predominant around the area. Friday night = Rush hour traffic. I didn’t want to be late for my first full-pledge radio interview. To be honest, it has been a dream of mine to be on radio. Maybe as a DJ. But God blessed me more as I was being interviewed by my dear friends Ron, Joyce and Owie.

Going back, I was there early and was very excited. I was trying to climatize myself with the booth and the fact that I will talking on air in a few minutes. Owie graciously toured me around and introduced me to some of the staff. Around 5:55pm, Ron and Joyce have not arrived yet. They’re suppose to do the interview with me. So Owie was preparing to go on board and was quite nervous. Then, a few minutes later, Ron and Joyce arrived. Whew for Owie.

The show started. Around 6:30pm, Joyce had a talk with me just to do some background stories. Most of the things you heard in the LIVE show were discussed beforehand. That’s where the stories about my involvement in the new age, the stories about my family and my ministry were briefly talked about.

7pm. I’m on. I was nervous. I was excited. I couldn’t believe this was the answer to a prayer. Fo about 30 minutes, I was talking about how God changed my life and how life has been good with God around. Let me tell you, it felt good being in the booth. All those days I’d hang out in the DJ booth when I was in college daydreaming to be one day be interviewed on air has come to pass. God does answer prayer!!!

That was one awesome interview. Too bad I wasn’t able to do a rap for them which we talked about before. Hopefully, I’ll be back to do it.

I woke up at 5:30am, did my personal duties, went to Cavite and took the test. We were given 1 1/2 hours to finish 300 test questions about God, the church’s history and other stuff. It was a mixture of multiple choice and matching type (letters).

I prepared hard for this exam. I tried memorizing, remembering and figuring out all the items that could appear on the test. Some of them appeared. Others were new to me.

Was I satisfied? Yes because I gave my all to this exam. Will I pass? I hope so. I will know the results by Thursday so please continue praying for me.

Now, I can move forward. I have some projects coming soon especially the new RODNEYGARCIA.COM.

They were very encouraging. One time, they said I looked good on cam. It felt weird because I never really saw myself as a telegenic person. Nevertheless, it boosted my confidence.

Unfortunately, I do not have pictures of the shoot yet. I’ll ask my good friend Mutya to supply me some.

Also, I met some cool guys from URBANHOPE who are heavily in the hip-hop scene and reaching out people for Christ through hip-hop. It just amazes me how God works. I was contemplating on returning to my humble hip-hop beginnings. And here comes the people who can help me out somehow. They were really down to earth and was great to hang out with. I hope I can get to hang out with them some more. These folks truly want to reach people for Christ. My hearts out to you bros!

I’d like to ask that you pray for me. I think God is opening some doors for me. In a few weeks, I’ll see what these are. Let’s just say that God is expanding my territories. I’ll hook you guys up later on this one.
